For this month's outing we'll be brushing the trailsides of the Amazon Headwaters Trail and possibly cutting back some blackberries from along the Ridgeline Trail.

Trip Report

For this month's outing most of us were allowed to venture outside of Spencer Butte Park to do volunteer on the Amazon Headwaters Trail. We met at 5:30 p.m. at the Fox Hollow Trailhead parking lot to work independently cutting back plants from the trailsides. Our group actually split into 2 groups. One group consisting of Dan and David Lodeesen hiked up the Ridgeline Trail to cut back a clump of blackberries that grows over the trail. Clara cleaned the traihead kiosk and cut back brush from the rock retaining wall so neatly that it can once again be enjoyed as a bench by pasers by. The rest of our group hiked down the Amazon Headwaters Trail and worked back up it cutting back blackberries, ferns, and vine maple using brushcutters, machettes, clippers.
