Description:

Bring a rake and meet us at Fox Hollow Trailhead to head downhill to rake storm debris from the Amazon Headwaters Trail. If we have enough volunteers, we can also send a group up the trail to the Tie Trail that will have more challenging work: raking, some cutting, scouting, and gathering information about the logs that need to cleared. We will give safety instructions before we start working. We have a few extra rakes if you don’t have one. Plan for 2 1/2 - 3 hours.

Trip Report

Our group of seven met at the Ridgeline Fox Hollow trailhead with rakes, clippers and handsaws under cloudy skies and temperatures in the 50's. Our plan was to have each participant take a portion of the trail to brush and then "leapfrog" down the trail to the next open section. The Scorpions had preceded us and taken care of removing trees that had fallen on/over the trail. There was plenty of debris for us to rake off the trail and we completed our work by 11:30. Janet passed around well deserved and welcomed treats for us before we returned up the trail to the parking lot. We all agreed that it was a successful and enjoyable trip.
