Trip Report

Our group of 5 volunteers met at the Fox Hollow Trailhead on an atypical day for an Obsidian trail maintenance outing to attempt to finish cleaning the long wooden causeway on the Amazon Headwaters Trail. With our weeders in hand and our backs stooped we scraped, stabbed, whacked, and gouged the duff, dirt, and rocks out of the gaps between the boards on the long causeway. We also used brooms and square-bladed shovels to remove moss and put the finishing touches on a job well done. Quite astoundingly, we were able to get all 139 gaps cleaned! (139 is my estimate; for the actual total, please ask Mike Smith.)
