Due to a lack of interest in the Ankeny Ride, we will now go to Brownsville, 50 miles. Leaving from Armitage Park at 9:30am.

  • Supplies and Equipment Required: Know your bike: Be sure to ride your bike before the trip to insure that it's working properly. If you need a tune-up or adjustments to your bike, do so now. Be sure that your tires are inflated. Your rear tire should be inflated 5 psi more than the front tire, if you want a comfortable ride (follow the recommended psi on the tire's sidewall). Also lube the chain (wiping off excess) and carry a spare tube and air pump. Carry water, snacks and lunch. Also have $1 for the ferry cost.

Trip Report

The ride in Ankeny did not show much interest, so I moved the trip to Armitage County Park for the start/finish and rode to Brownsville. The day was perfect weather and with a tailwind we made it to Randy's in Brownsville for lunch in under two hours. The return ride we faced a bit of a headwind, but luckily we escaped the rain.
