Description:

The hike begins at a trailhead 3 miles up gravel Goodman Creek Road off of highway 58 near milepost 20. Ash Swale shelter was built in 1930 as an overnight stop for packtrains from Lowell to Eagles Rest and Mt. June lookouts. Eagles Rest is 3022 feet elevation with views of nearby peaks and Lost Creek drainage. If it's been raining, the trail will have muddy stretches.
