Trip Report

We departed from the parking lot at 8:10 under partly cloudy skies. We met Terry Clark at the Rigdon Ranger District office and he lead us up Hills Creek to little dome rock. Big Dome rock was the site of a lookout that has since been removed. The 2+ mile trail between little Dome and Big Dome has a moderate grade except for the last mile which consists of steep rocky switchbacks. We hiked up to the top and enjoyed lunch and a beautiful view of Thielsen, Bailey, Diamond, and the Three Sisters. Terry had given us instructions on the work he wanted us to do and so at 12:30 we started back down the trail brushing out rhodies, removing limbs, and considerable rock removal at the trailhead as we arrived back at the cars at 3:50. I had a very hard working crew in Angie Barta, Wilbur Groner, and Ellen Tracy. The leaders were Terry Clark and Mike Wright.
