Description:

Ray Benson snow park is where we are going. Depending on weather and snow conditions we will either head for Big Lake or one of the shelters. Lots of choices. This is not a trip for beginners some experience is needed. Obsidian COVID protocols will be followed. See website home page. TRIP CLOSED.

Trip Report

Big Lake turned into Gold Lake. With just the two of us and the probability that the the Santiam would present bigger driving problems we adjusted. This was William’s first attempt at cross country skiing and I am working on rebuilding my own skills. With 24 inches of new snow we had a great time. We took a few tumbles. His poles were way to long. They must have thought he was racing. Tons of people at the snow park.
