Trip Report

It was nice to be back in the area....Great weather, warm, little wind, pristine beaches, plenty of water in the creeks & few bugs.....We enjoyed a small fire and were sure to leave no trace ....For a summer weekend I thought the solitude was good....We saw bear scat in several places, in camp & on the trail....2 of us were convinced we saw green when the sun set, others were skeptical......It chills me to think a few years ago there was a serious proposal from a golf course to buy this state park.....As a conservationist I feel it is important to show others what we have & would lose if we let amazing wildernesses, like Blacklock Pt, be developed....The jokes about broccoli were endless!....
