Description:

We will start at the Blanton trailhead and hike to the top of Spencer Butte then come back down to the junction and head over to Fox Hollow then return to Blanton. The pace will probably be moderate to fast.

Trip Report

With the weather report earlier this week showing a good chances of showers today, I was prepared to lead this hike in the rain. What a pleasant surprise to have the morning rain free and even sunny and mild most of the time. We even had some nice views on top of the Butte. The four of us kept up a fairly fast steady pace and finished the 10.5 miles just under 3 1/2 hours. Even then we found time to stop and look at all the wildflowers along the trail. We saw Shooting Stars, Camas, Bleeding Hearts, Solomon's Seal, Red Elderberry, Fawn Lily, Pacific Hound's Tooth, Trillium, Woodland Star Flower, and more. With the Pacific Wrens serenading us along the way it was a great day for a hike!
