Description:

This trail is part of the Ridgeline Trail System. Please meet at the Blanton Ridge Trailhead - Crest Drive to Blanton Road. The first 2 miles undulates through the canopy of fir trees with snippets of city views. Trail then crosses Willamette Street where we will continue for another 1.3 miles to reach the trail junction to submit Spencer Butte merging with the main trail at 0.8 miles for the final 0.5 push/step to the top. Pace will be moderately fast. The trails are quite muddy in places
Weather looking like it will be dry, but don't expect the trail to be.

Trip Report

This was the first time we did the Blanton to Spencer hike since the ice storm nearly three months ago. One can now see many houses easily whereas prior to the storm, they were rendered almost invisible. We had some rain at the beginning and it was a warm, humid hike up to the top. There are a few very muddy spots, but the trail was otherwise in good shape, and the culverts well cleaned out. There was the usual Friendly's Market stop after the hike!
