Description:

For this month's outing we will work along the Ridgeline Trail in Blanton Ridge Park to clear drainage, clear slough, and do some light trailside brushing.

Meet at the Willamette and 52nd trailhead parking lot, the gravel lot on Willamette. Additional parking is available along 52nd.

Trip Report

Our group braved a brisk morning to meet at the Willamette and 52nd trailhead parking lot to start our outing for the day. We grabbed tools and broke into 2 groups. Clara went and cleaned the main trailhead kiosk and steps. The rest of our group hiked along Blanton Ridge to start our work for the day. We started at the furthest set of drainage ditches clearing them and working our way back. We cut back sword ferns that were overgrowing the trail from the uphill side and clear some slough from the upper side of the trail as well. We cleaned additional drainage culverts and ditches as we came across them. We also picked up garbage and even bagged up some English ivy as we worked. Our group enjoyed some zuchinni bread that Janet provided and the calm before the afternoon rain began.
