Description:
Please indicate if you can drive when you sign up. We will need drivers who are comfortable driving their vehicle on gravel and a section that is “narrow, steep and rough” according to Sullivan in his Central Cascades hiking book. We will car pool from LCC and meet Michael in Cottage Grove. From Cottage Grove we will drive up the paved road along Brice Creek, turn on RD 2212 for 6 miles., then another 8.3 miles to Champion Saddle, RD 2460 toward Fairview Peak. Another mile takes you to Bohemia Saddle County Park for the hike to Bohemia Mountain (5,840’ ). Other stops include Bohemia City (a ghost town), a rock garden just below the town with wildflowers, Musick Guard station, Fairfield Peak.
