Description:

This is a great snowshoe with excellent views. I'm hoping to do this trip on a Friday to avoid what should be a very busy weekend in the mountains, but I may move the trip to Saturday depending on the weather. This trip will take at least four hours, so don't expect to get back to Eugene before 4pm. Some of us may stop at Takoda's after the trip, so choose your ride accordingly. The gas charge is $17.

Trip Report

This trip followed a week of snow in the mountains. While this gave us beautiful scenery, the deep heavy snow made progress to Brandenburg shelter more work than expected. All of our group made it to the shelter, where we enjoyed our lunch and the great views of the Cascades. Because of the deep snow, we returned the way we came instead of completing the usual loop.
