Description:

Meet at the Amazon Community Center, Eugene. We'll start riding at 9:00am, Obsidian time. The route is 38 miles mostly flat. Make sure that your bike is in working order, tires inflated, chain lubed and you have a spare tube and air pump. Our first stop will be at Camas Country Schoolhouse Bakery. Then we will proceed to Orchard Point at Fern Ridge Lake for lunch. In case the weather forecast does not look promising, I will change the date of the ride and let you know. Trip Report

Loaded with water, snacks and eagerness, a group of eight riders meandered from Amazon Park along the WIllamette River banks to the Camas Country Mill Store and Schoolhouse Project near the Eugene airport. After a short break we proceed to Orchard Point for lunch. While returning on the Fern Ridge Bike Path just before Bailey Hill Road, rider Julie Barnas noticed smoke then flames burning a tree (also a house caught fire as we found out later). She immediately called 911 to report the fire. In minutes fire folks arrived to control the situation. Kudos to Julie for quick thinking outside the bike ride.
