Trip Report

Slides from Diane Jeffcott, Rick Ahrens, Shirley Froyd, Vera Woolley and Hal Owen entertained the fifty-plus people attending the 1997 Summer Camp Reunion/Potluck at The Lodge.

Rick, miserably ill the first few days at camp, was able to capture it on film. His behavior was noticeably altered at times, particularly his ability to become Joaquin Miller!

Additionally, several people brought their pictures of camp to share. Chris Minarich’s Camp Calendars were distributed. What a nice way to remember the John Day area. Thank you, Chris!

Summer Camp statistics included 88 campers. Of this group, 17 were first-time campers and 16 were nonmembers. Seven have since joined the Club and one camper will be joining at the next Board meeting.

We want to thank Dorothy Turner, Bep Fontana and Vera Woolley for setting-up the Potluck. Thanks also go to John McManigal and Sig Otto for helping with the cleanup. - Sylvia Harvey
