Trip Report

Before the Potluck: Conversations and laughter were heard outside and inside the Lodge. Warm weather prompted Bob Dark to move some of the dining tables out on the deck. The Lodge had just received several coats of stain and looked so spiffy that one would have thought we were partying at the country club. The questions most asked were "What happened to Kevin's camper?" and "How was the trip back to Eugene?"

During the Meal: Everyone ate lots of food!

Before the Program: Bob thanked everyone for helping. He told of the new purchases for summer camp such as the cook's tent. He and other members have been working up at the Lodge staining, painting, landscaping, and remodeling the storage shed in back of the Lodge.

The Program: George Hermach showed a video of summer camp, which captured the good times we had, especially at campfires. The laughter was continuous. It made me realize how relaxing summer camp is and how it gives us an opportunity to sit back and enjoy! The only two decisions you had to make was what kind of sandwich you wanted for lunch and which hike to take. Bob Foster, Norm Benton, Dave Predeek, and a few others showed their slides. Norm's close-up of members prompted a few chuckles.

After the Program: We washed dishes, cleaned the kitchen, and packed up the video screen. Bob and Pat Dark locked up the Lodge - with a sigh of relief. We thank them for organizing such a grand evening. - Janet Baker Jacobsen
