Trip Report

The steep and challenging Chucksney Mountain loop trail is a true gem.<br />
We set out from the northern parking area of Box Canyon Horse Camp and didn\'t encounter a soul on this beautiful, 10.8-mile backcountry loop.<br />
Perfect, sunny September weather rewarded us with stunning views of the Three Sisters and other peaks in the Cascade Range. We gathered plenty of golden and white chanterelles, as well as *Hypomyces lactifluorum* (known as \"lobster mushrooms\").
