Trip Report

It was an amazing collection of colorful kayaks in various shapes and sizes: one sit-upon, three origami folding boats, three short play boats, and six lightweight touring kayaks. Thirteen women helped each other load and unload the boats, and get into and out of the water safely. We paddled up Coyote Creek for about 45 minutes and then turned around, paddled past the launch on Cantrell Road almost to W. 11th, and then back to the starting point. Beautiful day to be on the water, listening to birds, watching a curious grebe and great blue heron while colorful butterflies and dragonflies flitted about.
