Description:

Meeting Place: Jerry's Home Improvement on Hwy 99. The parking lot area in the northeast corner, closest to hwy 99.
This is a relatively easy hike, but participants must be comfortable with 6.6 miles. We'll hike counter clockwise through this training forest for Oregon State University; tall pines and some views, an old quarry, and hills. The trail is a fire road, very foot friendly. Might catch the end of fall leaves.

Parking at the trailhead is limited, carpooling is necessary. Offer to drive if you can, and those who need a ride, contact drivers ahead of time otherwise we'll arrange in the parking lot and take the least number of vehicles possible. Suggested mileage contribution to drivers: $9.00.

Trip Report

A great group of participants, beautiful fall leaves and no rain, what more could one ask for? It was fun to share a trail that most had never been, and for others, it had been far too long. All agreed we need to post more hikes to Oregon State University\'s McDonald Research Forest, just outside of Corvallis.
