Trip Report

Seven hardy trail crewmen braved frigid weather and possible snow to work on Deception Butte Trail and Bridge. The old dilapidated trailhead stairway was removed and re-engineered, and well graded; clean trailhead now beckons hikers to explore Deception Creek's bounty. Work also progressed on the bridge with steps, handrails and mid-rails being installed. The bridge is now near completion and will be ready for use in the upcoming hiking season. Once again the leader was impressed by the amount of work done by a few willing volunteers. Hikers putting a little bit back into their trails were John Cecil, Dallas and Jack Cole, Betty (Legris) Macy, Dave Predeek, Mike Wright and leader Pete Cecil.
