Delta Ponds

Description:

The new footbridge at Delta Ponds near Beltline is finished and open. Now there is an easy loop around the main pond area. From the Rose Garden we will walk at a moderate/brisk pace first along the river, then across Goodpasture Island Rd. to the ponds before returning. Most of the resident winter ducks should be present. All on paved or well-packed trail.

Trip Report

This was the first time over the new bridge for most folks. There are flooding issues NE of the bridge. All was dry a week ago, then we had 5 or 6 days of on and off rain and there was a 100 ft. stretch with up to an 1 inch of standing water. It was sort of possible to get around but waterproof shoes helped.
