Description:

Trip Description: We will meet in the parking lot at the north end of the Greenway Bridge, Valley River Center. We will try to visit six of the Delta Ponds, or maybe only three, depending on the weather. With luck we will get a peek at some fowl play among our feathered friends during the spring migration. There will be an optional lunch at the Valley River food mall or somewhere near, by consensus.

Trip Report

We started out in light rain. About an hour into the hike the rain stopped. We saw the usual collection of canada geese, mallards, coots and cormorants. Common songbirds included robins, blue jays, and unidentified species of sparrows. chickadees and woodpeckers. Altogether we walked about 6.4 miles and visited 6 if the 7 Delta Ponds.
