Trip Report

We had a great climb up Diamond Peak! We met at 5:15 AM in Pleasant Hill and were hiking by 07:20. The first part of the climb was through woods that were burned last year. Hiking through the burn and up on the mountain we had little visibility. But once up on the SE Ridge, we had clear views above the low clouds. We also had strong winds but luckily we were able to push through and once we got on the summit ridge the winds were less strong. On the summit, it was calm. We hung out on the summit for a while, had many snacks, then went down to start the glissade down. The snow was perfect and we were quick getting down the mountain. The snow was soft on the way out, but not too bad. We arrived back at the cars a little after 3:10 PM.
