Trip Report

We left from 58th and Main St. in Springfield Friday evening and camped at Indigo Springs Campground. Got up Saturday morning, broke camp and drove to Road 604. Left the cars at 7 a.m. (later than planned), took a compass reading and stepped into the forest. The weather was perfect, warm but not baking, and a light breeze to help keep us cool while in the shade. When we reached tree line we found a very dry West Face ahead of us. It was slow going up the West Ridge, and much easier and faster once we dropped over into the snow of the northwest bowl. We finally made the summit at 1 p.m. Thanks for being so patient, Ed!! The climbers on this trip were Beverly Blunck (her first mountain), Ed Lovegren and leader Keith Blunck.
