NOTE: Time change! This bike ride is part of the Eugene to Pacific Crest Trail (E2C) connection. For details about the E2C project, see the May Bulletin. You just might win a prize for both biking and hiking sections of the trail! We will meet at the Pleasant Hill shopping center across Highway 58 from Dairy Queen (east side of the parking lot near the coffee kiosk). We will bike on low traffic roads past the east trailhead on Mt Pisgah; the turnaround point will be the Dexter Lake Club where some scenes in the movie "Animal House" were filmed. Trip Report

Nothing like riding the Tour de P. Hill on the all time record setting temperature day (111 degrees)! But we had some shade and a bit of a breeze and were done by 10am when the temperature was only 90 degrees. Cycling past the east entrance of Pisgah, we passed the imaginary baton to the Eugene to Crest (E2C) Obsidians who will hike there. A beautiful, 4' long snake searched for shade in Elijah Bristow State Park where we passed the baton to those who will hike through the park to the dam. Thanks to Richard for mapping the route and to all the stalwart athletes who wanted to ride in spite of the heat.
