Description:

Where is Eagle View Ridge you may ask? It's what I call the ridge directly north of Stag Lake. The elevation is about 6500'. We will start from Crescent Lake Sno-Park and head up the Fawn Lake trail, pass Fawn Lake on the east side, and head northwest to the top of the ridge. If conditions are right, it's a great descent off the ridge, be ready for some turns! Drivers will need a Sno-Park permit.

Trip Report

Four skiers left Crescent Lake Sno-Park at 9:15 AM under cloudy skies, with just a 1/2" of new snow atop a crunchy base. Weather was variable throughout the day, with blustery winds and occasional snow showers. Our goal was the 6400' high point on Eagle View Ridge, my name for the ridge north of Fawn and Stag Lake. From the east side of Fawn Lake we headed northwest towards the ridge and ascended it via the east end using skins as the slope increased. We arrived at the high point at 1:00 PM and hunkered down in the trees out of the wind for lunch. A few inches of fresh snow at this elevation made for a pleasant descent off the ridge. We were back at the car by 4:00 PM with a bit of clearing skies to end our day.
