Description:

Eagles Rest: only 26 miles up highway 58. The turn-off then becomes about 3 miles of gravel road. Last fall it had been re-paved and was in good shape. This is a lovely hike through lush forest up to the top of Eagles Rest and a nice view. This is where we'll take a break & early lunch. Could be a bit muddy.

Carpool: Parking is a bit limited, so please prepare to carpool, the fewer cars the better.

Trip Report

9 of us made our way to the Eagles Rest trailhead, 3 miles from highway 58. The road had some potholes, clearly the weather from this past winter left an impression. But, the beauty of the lush, dense forest - all the way to the view point, quickly transported us all to that special place we look forward to on every hike; nature, in all her glory.
