Description:
On Saturday, 7/27 from 8a-11a Friends of Bufford Park we'll be hosting a work party to continue construction of a new universally accessible trail segment on the east side of the park, near Pleasant Hill. It will mostly consist of raking and spreading gravel in the trailway, so the work will be start-and-stop in nature, appropriate for folks of most ability levels.
The tour is planned to begin right after the work party and will last an hour. We'll review the ongoing project there (Trail 3 East), explore the need for accessible trails, and we'll get to talk about how Friends is creating opportunities for recreation that are compatible with habitat and native ecosystems, increased park visitorship and trail usage by a wider swath of the Eugene/Springfield community.
Our plan is to move forward with the tour so long as we have at least 5 folks signed up for the work party, with a cap of 10.
