Description:

Meet at Albertsons, Santa Clara (parking lot closest to Burger King)
Easy sunset hike on the north shore Fern Ridge Reservoir. Mix of beaten gravel path, concrete bike path and sandy-grassy area.
➽ Participants will manage their own transportation. Obsidian protocols for social distancing will be observed on the hike. Refer to main website page for information. Please indicate your transportation preferences. If you want to drive by yourself, please indicate "Have" and 0 for passengers. Trip Report

Pleasant evening stroll along the edge of Fern Ridge at the time of day filmmakers call the "magic hour," with warm light and lengthening shadows. This walk is enjoyable for all energy levels - there are benches for resting and enjoying the lake views, and it is paved most of the way, except for the top of the levee which is level but covered with loose rocks. Although we originally planned to go from Orchard Point to Richardson Bay, it turned out to be slightly shorter than 6 miles because access to Richardson Bay was blocked by the Yacht Club.
