Description:
Join us to attend the monthly meeting of the Eugene Natural History Society (ENHS) on the U of O campus. The May speaker is Samantha Hopkins. From the ENHS website, "Samantha is a professor in the Department of Earth Sciences at the University of Oregon and an expert in mass extinction, paleontology, climate change, and evolution. She studies the evolution of ecology in mammals, primarily fossil mammals, and is interested in the role climate change and geologic activity play in mammal evolution. Her lectures can cover the deep time history of climate change on earth, evidence for evolution, conservation biology, and the future of life on earth in the context of human activity."
Our group will meet at 6 PM at Unthank Hall food court (UO Campus) to visit and grab a bite to eat. Offerings include tacos, burgers, sandwiches, pizza, plant-based foods, and snacks. At 6:40 we will walk over to Allen Hall to listen to presentation that starts at 7 PM. The presentation is free, but donations are appreciated.
