Description:

Our walk will have a few Eugene literary connections before we end up at the Eugene Public Library in time for holiday book sale at 10:00. Find amazing deals on gift books at the Friends of the Library fundraiser. I have Obsidian shopping bags if you need them for our return walk. Mileage is an estimate. Trip Report

I passed out Obsidian shopping bags before we began our leisurely walk from the Campbell Community Center to the Holiday Book Sale at the Eugene Public Library. Along the way we stopped to explore connections to authors including Shannon Applegate, Kate Wilhelm, Lauren Kessler, and Ken Kesey. It was fun to share Eugene's history, art, and eccentricities with our two guests who recently moved from Minnesota. Our sunny day with a high of 59 degrees contrasted with the high of 24 degrees in Minnesota. Several of us purchased Kate Wilhelm's books that were donated after she died March 8, 2018.
