Trip Report

On Saturday, Sept 18 the Obsidian Trail Construction crew marked its 5th day of building on the Eugene-to-the-Pacific Crest-Trail. Beginning in May at the junction with Owl Cabin Way (one mile due north of McCredie Springs) we have pushed within striking distance of making the connection through to Squaw Butte Road, thus completing a 6-mile section of this major east-west trail. Wielding Pulaskies, hazel hoes and McCloud rakes were Maude Caldwell, Bob Devine, Chris Jensen (Recreation assistant, Oakridge Ranger District), Jim Kelly, Leona Mattson, Millard Thomas, and leader Jerold Williams.
