Trip Report

This work trip was a fitting climax to a summer of effort on the Eugene to the Cascade Crest Trail construction. The Club has sent 6 parties out this past summer. Approximately two miles of trail was constructed. The October trip succeeded in connecting up two ends of the trail thus completing, the section from Squaw Butte Rd to Owl Cabin Way. This is a major accomplishment for a volunteer effort, and all Obsidians and friends who participated during this building season are highly commended.

Next summer the club will take on another section of the trail, probably just west of this summer's project.

The October crew, the largest of the season: Doris Allen, John and Peter Cecil, Ruth Coffman, Bob Devine, Mary Fulton, Jeannette Haugen, Jim Kelly, Richard Heinzkill, Betty Legris, Joe Lowry, Leona Mattson, Millard Thomas and leader Jerold Williams.
