Trip Report

This trip marked the beginning of a new phase in the Eugene-to-Pacific-Crest Trail project. We have moved the operation west into the Lowell District, as the Oakridge section is completed for the time being. The work on July 28 consisted of brushing out a portion of the old Winberry Divide trail overlooking Lookout Point Reservoir. We completed about ½ of the mile-long section the Lowell transportation engineer had spotted. After 20+ years of abandonment, the old trail was in pretty fair shape. After a day of trail work we picked enough red huckleberries for a delicious pie.

Winberry Divide trail workers were Zotty and Larry Cash, Vi Johnson, Jane Tucker, and leader Jerold Williams.
