Don't regret being left out of such exhilarating fun!! Be part of the Obsidian Team for Eugene's Special Olympics Polar Plunge! Join your daring (crazy?) Obsidian friends for a VERY invigorating swim for a great cause! A 10-second dip is all that is asked. 10 seconds !!! YOU CAN DO IT ! A warm-up of delicious hot chocolate when you get out of the river.
Help get Obsidians in the news! Don't leave me & Angie & Andrew & Mitch & Lisa & her daughter Sophia out there alone!!

PS: for those who might arrive as a support team to take photos, hold towels, or simply gawk - thank-you thank-you thank-you!!! - a $5 dollar contribution (or more) to the total cause will be appreciated. Smile.

Trip Report

An exhilarating experience - and so fun to be part of this wonderful community effort to raise funds for Special Olympics! Our group of 4 was surrounded by well over 100 more participants. The event started with a parade of costumes- what a hoot! - and applause voting. Then the Plunge began. Lisa, her daughter Sophia and I plunged early with the category of "individuals" - and again 20 minutes later as the Obsidian Team along with Mitch. Warmed dressing tents, hot beverages, and food from the Texas Roadhouse were most welcome post-plunge. At least one other Obsidian participant who did not end up making the Plunge donated the registration fee.
Plans underway to return next year. Join us!
