Eula Ridge – Hardesty loop

Description:

The forest is beautiful and green. This hike climbs steeply up the Eula Ridge trail and connects with the Hardesty Trail. The top of Hardesty has the remnants of a lookout, with trees blocking the view that used to exist. The return down the Hardesty Trail has more switchbacks as it descends to the Hardesty Trailhead.
The drivers will pull into the Hardesty Trailhead and we'll take a car/cars to the Eula Ridge Trailhead. Upon completion, cars will return to Eula Ridge to pick up vehicles at that location.

Trip Report

Eula Ridge is steep and hard work. We prevailed and reached the top of Hardesty to dine and enjoy a view of part of the 3 Sisters. Traveling down the Hardesty Trail was easier. A few bikes and a runner were enjoying the trail. Flowers at higher elevation included Rhodies, Trillium. Calypso orchids and Fawn lillies. The three of us greatly enjoyed the fresh air, gentle breeze and filtered sunlight.
