Trip Report

A hastily assembled group of trail workers met at the damaged Timber Creek Bridge on lower Fall Creek Trail. A large windfall had shattered a half dozen bridge handrails, but miraculously had spared the up-rights. Despite limited tools, everyone set to skinning logs, running the saw, or notching and installing new rails. After several hours (and two rails accidentally dropped in the creek) the repair was declared "better than new." On the way out a hideous fire ring was dispersed, the ashes buried and the general area returned to a near natural setting. A young Douglas fir was planted on the fire ring site to further discourage its use. Timber Creekers were John Cecil, Betty Legris, Mary Bridgeman, Helen Smith and leader Pete Cecil.
