Trip Report

On Sunday, June 21, around 107 members and friends attended the warmest and driest Father's Day Pancake Breakfast on record. Luckily, Dorothy Turner was able to obtain three flats of strawberries to uphold Obsidian tradition.

Friday, Joella Ewing did the shopping and John Jacobsen worked on the Lodge grounds. Parker Riddle had the Lodge in tip-top shape. Dorothy Turner set the tables, arranged flowers and, with Dorothy Hayes, cleaned strawberries.

Early Sunday morning, Sharon Ritchie, John McManigal, Dorothy Turner, Jane & John Corliss worked a 5-hour shift. It was a special treat to have new members Margee Wright and daughters Megan and Jenny participate. Other cooks and servers were Bette Staeck, Lenore McManigal, Rose Marie Moffitt, Birgitte Williams, Royal Murdock, Jane Hackett, Mary Battin, Karen Seidel, Bette Hack, Helen Lynch, Harold Busby, Lynn Pierce, Helen Knowlton, Bobbye Sorrels, and Millard Thomas. It was a fun morning working together!

Joe Fowler of The Original Pancake House (located at 650 East Broadway, Eugene) donated the pancake batter. Joe has been doing this for the past 28 years. We truly appreciate his generosity.

And thanks to everyone who came! - Jan Jacobsen
