Five Covered Bridges

Description:

This is a trip to see 5 covered bridges in the Lowell area.

Our route will include driving briefly on I-5, then on Hwy 58 for 10 miles to Rattlesnake Road for 4 miles to the Parvin Covered Bridge. Next, we drive 2 miles to the Lowell Covered Bridge where there are several interpretive displays. For the third bridge, we drive 2 minutes to the Rolling Rock Park in Lowell. The park has some outdoor exhibits that showcase the town's logging and railroad heritage. Although the bridge there is a micro-sized pedestrian-covered bridge, it is included! The fourth is the Unity Covered Bridge another 2 miles down the road. The fifth bridge is the historic Pengra Bridge 7 miles further. Adjacent to this bridge is the Henton Produce Farmstead, if they are open we will stop. We return to Eugene via the Jasper Lowell Road > town of Japser > to Parkway > Hwy 58, arriving back at Amazon Park.
Suggested driver reimbursement is $5.50 We will need 3 drivers.

There are restrooms near the Amazon Community Center and the Rolling Rock Park.

Trip Report

A lovely day to see five local covered bridges: Parvin Covered Bridge, Lowell Covered Bridge, the small covered pedestrian bridge at the Rolling Rock Park in Lowell, the Unity Covered Bridge, and the historic Pengra Bridge. We also made a stop at a local farm stand.
