Description:

This is a one-day session of exploring the Elliot Glacier on the northeast side of Mount Hood, a fairly heavily crevassed glacier that is reasonably accessible from the trailhead. We will drive to Cloud Cap Friday evening and car camp at the trailhead.

On Saturday morning we will head up the moraine trail to the glacier access, and travel roped through the crevasse field. This session is designed to give people some experience and confidence in roped travel through crevassed areas. If there is interest and if conditions are appropriate, we may do some top-roped ice climbing in crevasses as well.

Participants should have completed climb school or have equivalent experience. call me or email me (suesulliwat@gmail.com) if you have questions.
