Description:

We will be parking at Gold Lake sno park. We will start on the Gold Lake road and take off on the trail that leads down to Marilyn Lake. We will continue along the blue diamond trail and come out close to the Gold Lake shelter. On the way out we will take the road directly back to the sno park.

Trip Report

The sunny skies and mushy snowcover made it seem like spring. We detoured down to Lower and Upper Marilyn Lakes to catch a trail to Gold Lake shelter where it was warm enough to sit on the bridge for lunch. Exceptional conditions motivated us to snowshoe beyond the bridge to work our way to Waldo Lake Road. From there we connected with a trail that led us back to Gold Lake Road. Snowshoeing back up the road is more work than one would think.
