PLEASE READ CAREFULLY: This is the leader and the assistant leader's first out-of-town lead. We hope to keep the group together. PLEASE BE IN SHAPE. This hike starts out at Pamelia Lake trailhead. There is a $1 per person fee to cover the cost of a special limited entry permit. This hike has a challenging 2800ft climb, consistent steep uphill after the first 2 miles hike to Pamelia lake. The trail is mostly shaded with many rhododendrons. Hope there will still be some blooming when we go. The top has close up views of Mt Jefferson where we'll have lunch. We'll return to our vehicles on the same trail. Unfortunately, the water level in Pamelia Lake is too low for swimming right now.
NW Forest Pass or America the Beautiful Pass required for parking. Suggested donation to drivers: $21.
