Grounds Work Party

Description:

We will continue to create a defensible space around the lodge, taking up where we left off from the last work party. The work party will carry on with mowing and maintaining the grounds as well as clearing flammable plants and materials near the building. If possible, we will cut stumps to ground level. Bring loupers, clippers, trowels, gloves, small and big shovels, and we will find a task to match your tools. Bring a snack to share, if you would like.

Trip Report

Once again, the dedicated volunteers worked hard and accomplished a lot. Mowing continued, digging up stubborn roots, pruning and weeding, clearing more shrubs and blackberry removal continued. Most work was dedicated to the goal of creating a defensible space. The crew was blessed with a cool, somewhat misty day.
