Historic Brownsville
-
Start date: 03/19/2026
-
Start time: 8:30 AM
Description:
We will depart from the Amazon Community Center parking lot at 28th and Hilyard St. The drive is about 35 miles each way.
Brownsville, one of Oregon’s earliest settlements, was established in 1846. Several buildings from the 1800s still stand and a short stroll will take us by them.
At 11 we will have a guided tour of the Moyer House, a fully restored 1881 residence. Suggested donation $5/person. After a stop at the Linn County Historical Museum it will be time for lunch (local restaurant or BYO.)
Before returning to Eugene, Living Rock Studio is a you-don’t-want-to-miss-it type of place. (Again, $5/person donation.) Bring an extra layer because it can be chilly inside.
Nothing strenuous here, but a lot of standing so wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather.
supplies required: extra warm layer for Living Rock Studio, comfortable shoes, money for donations and lunch
