Trip Report

With temperatures in Eugene predicted to reach close to 100 degrees, the Hunts Cove hike is a good destination. The trail into Hunts Cove is through a beautifully shaded mature forest along several cascading mountain streams, keeping our hikers cool enough to finish this 13-mile trek. Pamelia Lake has been reduced to a small puddle, but Hunts Lake is still full and provided us with a chance to take a rather brisk swim before our return hike. Unfortunately, smoke has now smothered the Cascades, and it\'s looking like it\'s here to stay for the summer. A stop at Takoka\'s Restaurant after the hike gave our group a chance to cool down after this challenging hike.
