Description:
Updated: Meet at Weyerhaeuser-McKenzie Natural Area at 42nd St. and 3809 Marcola Road.
It is an hour drive up Mohawk Valley to Sweet Home where we will head east up Highway 20 around 35 miles to Deer Creek(milepost 63) or Tombstone Trailhead for the loop hike if possible. Cone Peak Meadows is 4950 ft. and Iron Mountain summit: 5,455 ft. If snow, trail conditions become an issue, we will make a group decision to hike at la ower elevation (House Rock, Santiam Wagon Road, Soda Creek Falls)
Bathroom stop at Foster Dam (Shear) Viewpoint, east of Sweet Home. Toilet at the Trailhead.
