Description:

Ikenick sno-park is located across Hwy 126 from Clear Lake. This is a fairly low elevation area, a combination of logging roads and trails. I have skied about half way around the Nickerson loop it starts in the trees joins the road for about a half mile and returns to the trees. This is not heavily used, the snow once off the road was fluffy and without the icy crust. The trail was rolling with gradual elevation gain, marked with blue diamonds. This area dose get snow mobile use on weekends. The week day I was there it was very quiet.

Trip Report

Great snowshoe trip. Views of 3 Finger Jack, Mt Washington and all 3 Sisters. We started in the fog from Eugene by Leaburg we were in the sun for the rest of the day. No new snow but by the time we got on the trail the sun had soften things up that made for easy snowshoeing the rest of the day. Lunch at noon on a bench with a perfect view of all 3 Sister.
