Kentucky Falls hike with shuttle

Description:

The Kentucky Falls trailhead, 60 miles west of Eugene in the Coast Range, connects to the North Fork Smith River trailhead by 8.7 mile downhill trail along Kentucky Creek and the North Fork Smith River. Three gorgeous waterfalls, and the old growth forest are the attractions here, as well as fine swimming holes if the weather is warm. The trail becomes narrow and overgrown in the middle of the route. Mushrooms will be plentiful.

We will meet at Target on West 11th at 8 am, with a return around 4 pm. We will need three cars, and hikers will need to wait while drivers make the shuttle; a 20 minute drive on narrow paved roads. The route to the trailhead from highway 126 is steep and in some spots rough. Suggested donation to drivers is $13
