Koosah Falls around Clear Lake

Description:

We will park at the trail head for Koosah Falls and hike east passing Sahalie Falls. After crossing the highway we will make the loop around Clear lake and head back to Koosah Falls. The main elevation gain is the 1.5 miles to Clear Lake and then relatively flat around the lake. The pace will be Moderate. The plan is to stop for lunch at the Clear Lake Resort using their picnic tables. The resort store should be open for snacks and if we are lucky - hot coffee.

Trip Report

The group car pooled in three cars to the Koosah Falls Trail Head. The weather was beautiful for the middle of November. Clear, sunny and cold with a high of 49 degrees. We hiked east past Koosah Falls, past Sahalie Falls to Clear Lake. We hiked counter clockwise around the lake. The water was calm and crystal clear. We stopped briefly where the water flowed from underground into the pool and into Clear Lake. We stopped at Clear Lake Lodge to eat our lunch and purchase hot chocolate, coffee or hot tea. It was delightful. After the lodge we hiked the route back to our cars staying on the north side of the river. Everyone shared they had a great day.
