Description:

Larison Creek is a great winter hike that is not in town. The trail head is a few miles past Oakridge on Hills Creek Reservoir. We follow a small river inlet along the reservoir and then up the river. We will stop for lunch at the "summer swimming hole". Trail may be slippery in parts so poles could be helpful but not required.

Trip Report

We had the perfect window of weather with no rain for hiking. The trail had been cleared of the many downed trees from last winters storm. The turn around spot for lunch had changed with downed trees blocking the path to the "lunch" rocks. We were able to cross over the trees and still get there. This is a nice winter trail hike.
